R+P Post 12: Our animatic

After making our storyboard, we have decided to use Adobe Premier Pro to create an animatic, in order to check that our shot timings are correct and that all the shots fit together well. This involves us taking photos of every individual picture of our storyboard and putting them onto a sequence in Permier. We are able to edit each photo so that it lasts for the amount of time we have planned on the timeline. It also gives us a chance to put in our credits, over the shots to see what they will look like, and add in our music over the top of the sequence. We also recorded a voice over and placed it over the shots where we are due to have dialogue.
Our animatic helped us because it enabled us to see where shots didn't work and where they may have been continuity errors, and gave us a chance to come up with a replacement shot. Also, an issue we came across was that we had planned some shots which were way too long, so this was a good opportunity to edit that and make another post-it note to add in another shot in any gaps on the timeline. We were able to put in the music we planned to use for our opening to see that it does fit with the sequence in terms of pace and style. Overall we got an idea of how our actual opening would look, so we could make any changes needed before our test shoot for our rough cut.
