Evaluation Post 4: Who would the audience be for your media product?

After deciding on the storyline for our opening, we thought that the audiences we had chosen would fit perfectly with this. In the beginning, we looked at statistics to see who the main audience of cinema-goers were. The BFI Yearbook of 2013 contained these stats:

Following this we decided on our mass audience and our niche audiences, they are shown in the following prezi presentation.

Note on the prezi:
We also thought that our audience would be equally skewed to men and women, because she acts in a way that men will understand and be fond of, but also appeals to women through the use of a female protagonist.

Conclusion:
We decided on a target audience of both men and women aged 15-30, but primarily those of any age and gender who are fans of the neo-noir/film noir genre. As we already had this audience in mind it made it easy for us to tailor our opening to our target audience, as we have done.
